Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in Second Life
Audience members from across the globe ‘sat' in a virtual version of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall to watch as the RLPO performed live with conductor Vasily Petrenko.
During the concert, which took place in the virtual world of Second Life, audiences interacted with each other, enjoyed a drink in the bar, and met the conductor and composer afterwards.
The concert was also broadcast live to ‘big screens' and is now available to watch anytime. Over 34,000 people have visited the hall.
The project made global news and attracted huge public interest in its innovation in reaching out to new audiences.
