For Big Chip the North of England is defined as anywhere north of Derby and south of Scotland. The judges reserve the right to admit or disqualify any entry based on geographical eligibility.
The project (e.g. product, service or campaign) as entered must have been launched, redeveloped or shown substantial measurable progress at some time between 13 March 2017 and 19 March 2018 (extended to 3 April).
The Entrant can be the implementer of the project or their client. The project (eg product, service or campaign) must principally originate in the North of England. This normally means that the development work was largely carried out in the North of England or by an organisation based in the North of England; or that an organisation based in the North of England is mostly responsible for delivering the product or service.
The business or organisation (the entrant) must be based in the North of England.
Leadership award submissions
For the Leadership award, the individual can nominate themselves or they can be nominated by a 3rd party. The individual must work in an area related to digital or technology.
Student or apprentice submissions
For the Little Chip Student Award, the submission must be the work of one or more students studying at an educational institution in the North of England, executed as part of their course work at the institution.
For the Little Chip Placement/Apprentice Award the submission must be wholly or mostly the work of a student or apprentice working for an employer in the North of England.
