2018 Award

Co-op Food

The judges said

Co-op’s entry is really stands out as an exemplar of user-involved UI/UX development, real-world research and a testament to the benefits of really understanding the end user, an iterative design process and the benefits of multiple best-in-class agencies coming to work together to deliver a great product.

Entrant's description

Co-op Shifts is a mobile webapp that’s transforming the way colleagues at Co-op food view and monitor their shifts. It provides all staff with visibility and control over their rota hours – information that was previously relayed by in-store printouts, and only administered by management (via a time-consuming desktop system). By putting control into the hands of users, Shifts adds up-to-date clarity for all staff, improving attendance rates and improving workplace culture. And for managers, it slashes the time it takes to administer the rota system – turning a deskbound job into something that can be done in moments, anywhere.

2017 Award

After Digital and Donmar Warehouse with A high-end theatre experience online

The judges said

Beautifully designed with clarity and elegance whilst allowing you to access information quickly and easily.

Entrant's description

Donmar Warehouse put out a tender in 2016, looking for a UX design and web partner who could translate their unique brand identity into the online space, whilst creating a seamless ticket buying experience for customers across devices. They wanted to speak to their loyal customers, enhancing the experience offered to them online, but also to entice new custom and encourage key conversions (ticket sales and donations). Praised by their Artistic Director as "a thing of beauty and efficiency, two things that rarely meet except in truly great design", the website has far exceeded expectations.
