2018 Award
Co-op Food

The judges said
Co-Op’s project leverages mobile as a platform, delivers real value to a significant audience and a frictionless user experience which evidences the serious level of behind-the-scenes work undertaken by two agencies working in partnership.
Entrant's description
Co-op Shifts is a mobile webapp that’s transforming the way colleagues at Co-op food view and monitor their shifts. It provides all staff with visibility and control over their rota hours – information that was previously relayed by in-store printouts, and only administered by management (via a time-consuming desktop system). By putting control into the hands of users, Shifts adds up-to-date clarity for all staff, improving attendance rates and improving workplace culture. And for managers, it slashes the time it takes to administer the rota system – turning a deskbound job into something that can be done in moments, anywhere.

Entrant's description
Bolster Systems is a pioneering business, using a forward-thinking application to set a new industry standard, revolutionising fire surveying and prevention in the UK. They approached Silverchip to manage all technical aspects of their business, which is based around a technically-complicated application. The application was born out of their desire to take the headache out of what was a very timely and resource-heavy process. Bolster Systems has taken the industry by storm winning clients such as the NHS, who now specify their need for buildings to be Bolster approved in their tenders.
