Criteria

An entry in this category must include a significant use of online or digital technology either to promote a product or service, or to create, enhance or build a brand. Digital Marketing / Branding campaign approaches could include online advertising, viral marketing, email marketing, SMS campaigns and integrated on and offline campaigns. Entrants should demonstrate the effectiveness of the campaign in either directly or indirectly generating business (for the commissioning organisation) or for increasing brand recognition or brand perception.

Modern English and Foo Fighters with Foo Fighters Glastonbury Announcement Campaign

Entrant's description

After successfully engaging the Foo Fighters’ management in LA, October 2016, Modern English’s first project was the announcement of their Glastonbury headline concert. The campaign involved various teases that were designed to provoke fan and press reaction. This included a foofighters.com takeover based around an airport departure board, featuring their European festival dates (with one glaring omission), a physical mail out of Obelisk Airline boarding cards to a selection of mailing list subscribers, an online check-in, a fake announcement and an in-flight entertainment section of the website featuring a countdown to a secret live-streamed announcement gig near Glastonbury Festival.

In 2016 the Best DIgital Marketing Campaign category has been expanded to include creating, building or enhancing a brand in the criteria. The Best Digital Branding Campaign category has been dropped.
