Our tech team worked with over 20 students from three local colleges to create our career platform which was re-launched as GoCareer in Jan 2017. The platform re-imagines career advice and ensures that students receive high quality information on the local labour market, showing the skills and popularity of the careers in the Digital Tech and Creative Digital sectors. We are actively closing the skills gap using our data to inform the education system on the skills the local and national labour market require through our portal, defining the trailblazer standards which all students will study.

The winning entry was innovative in the true definition of the word - combining a number of existing technologies to create a new and unique product in the marketplace. Translating millions of datapoints into an intuitive user interface that helps solve a major social problem facing this country: helping students choose higher education courses that will give them the highest levels of employability.

Entrant's description

Labour Market Planning (LAMP) is a new online service that enables directors of further education colleges to know what courses they should be offering to students based on how employable those students will then likely become. LAMP shows colleges which of their courses are viable from an employable skills viewpoint, as well as reveal courses that will become viable in the future. It’s achieved by mashing together over 17.2 Million points of data to provide insightful intelligence in a delightfully simple way, to assist colleges to stay viable and students employable.

Relative Insight was founded to provide advanced language analysis solutions to Law Enforcement and National Security Agencies. After several years working with intelligence agencies to detect criminals online, we started to use apply our comparative and profiling language algorithms in the advertising world. A series of projects applying our technology in a marketing context were carried out with Saatchi&Saatchi and Microsoft Mobile.
