Entries closed on Monday 24th March. We are now preparing the data for the judges and judging will commence shortly. We expect to announce the shortlist on 1 May 2014.

Big Chip 2014

The 2014 awards are sponsored by headline sponsor UKFast for the second year running. There are 20 entry categories and two special awards chosen from the shortlists.

The Anthony Wilson Original Modern award will be chosen by this year's special guest judge, internationally renowned designer Neville Brody, and the Grand Prix, the best overall entry chosen by the expert judging panel.

There are two new entry categories. Best User Experience will recognise the best work in this increasingly vital area. The Little Chip Placement/Apprentice Award will celebrate the best apprentice or student on placement or work experience.

The judging panel this year includes journalists Bill Thompson of the BBC and Daniel Nye Griffiths of Wired and Forbes, renowned designer Al Scott FRSA, games guru Thayer Prime, Thinking Digital founder Herb Kim, Dr David Kreps of Salford University and well-known Manchester agency entrepreneur Liane Grimshaw. Michael Nutley will be applying his usual strict standards from the chair for the 11th year running.

This year's dinner will take place on 3 July, for the first time at Manchester's historic Midland Hotel.
